Battlefield V Physical Sales Down More Than Half Compared to Battlefield 1 in the UK

While Battlefield V officially launched this November 20, which puts it in a prime spot for the big holiday sales spree, it seems that in terms of physical sales, Battlefield V is tracking well behind Battlefield 1!

According to Eurogamer, Battlefield V sold less than half the physical copies Battlefield 1 did at launch, and BF1 was only on sale for three days in comparison to Battlefield V’s five days.

Before anyone panics, this doesn’t tell the entire story though. Battlefield V was playable earlier via the Digital Deluxe edition (granting access on November 15), which most likely pushed a lot of people to purchase the game digitally. Also, these are via Chart-Track, which tracks purely physical sales, and only from the UK. This number could very well be reversed in the US and in other parts of the world.

Here’s the full top 10:

  1. FIFA 19
  2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
  3. Red Dead Redemption 2
  4. Battlefield 5
  5. Forza Horizon 4
  6. Marvel’s Spider-Man
  7. Fallout 76
  8. Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu
  9. Spyro Trilogy
  10. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

If you’re on the fence whether to get Battlefield V, make sure to read our review to see why we said, “DICE’s Battlefield V sets a new bar for World War 2 shooters by having an incredible arsenal of maps, player customization, weapons, and gameplay features new to the series”

Do you think Battlefield V will outsell Battlefield 1? Or has DICE made too many changes to the core gameplay of BFV that it might alienate some old-school Battlefield players? Or is this purely due to the controversy the game garnered since release for including women soldiers? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Who didn’t see this coming…. no surprise here!

I’ve made many comments here about BF1 and BF5. No one from EA or DICE will read them. And these companies couldn’t care less how you feel about their Battlefield games today.

So… it’s not worth commenting anymore about any current Battlefield game again. I just don’t care anymore.
