2020 Honda City RS
2020 Honda City RS turbo petrol might be launched in India

The 2020 Honda City RS turbo petrol India launch is under consideration. It might happen after the new City is launched on 15th July.

The City RS is already on sale in Thailand and is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo VTEC petrol motor that produces 122 PS and 173 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT.

There are a few changes that differentiate the 2020 Honda City RS from the regular City. The front grille comes in black with a honeycomb pattern, the bumper has slight revisions to give it a sporty look and gets slatted fog lamp inserts.

Side mirrors on the City RS are blacked out like the grille, there is a new alloy wheel design and at the rear, a new bumper with a faux diffuser can be seen. A rear spoiler has also been added to the car along with RS badging.

Inside, continuing with the sporty theme, the City RS gets all-black interior with red contrast stitching and aluminium pedals. The Thailand version of the car also has red accents in the driver’s instrument binnacle.

The 2020 Honda City RS turbo petrol is expected to come with features similar to that of the regular City.

We would like to see it come with a manual gearbox. Expect Honda to charge a premium of Rs. 75,000/- for the RS over the regular versions.

Also, rumour is that Honda might bring in cosmetic upgrades only. We will get to know more when its launch date nears.

Honda will not want to be left out in the turbo petrol game, especially since its competitors such as Hyundai and Skoda offer their cars, the Verna and Rapid, respectively, with turbocharged petrol engines in India.
