Verified Hate: Tom Brady Edition
Gregory Hood, American Renaissance, February 8, 2021
Like many white Americans, I’ve stopped paying attention to professional sports. Last night’s Super Bowl reportedly began with the “Black National Anthem.”
However, leftists were still not happy. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, formerly of the New England Patriots, led his team to victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s a friend of Donald Trump and married to a blue-eyed German-Brazilian supermodel.

A few days ago, the Huffington Post smeared Mr. Brady.

— HuffPost (@HuffPost) February 3, 2021
SportingNews published a long article entirely about the “uncomfortable” friendship between the two. Mr. Brady has never attacked Donald Trump, and many people can’t forgive him for this.
University of Rhode Island professor Kyle Kusz’s 2019 book, The Palgrave Handbook of Masculinity and Sport has a chapter called “Making American White Men Great Again: Tom Brady, Donald Trump, and the Allure of White Male Omnipotence in Post-Obama America.”
Just before the game, USA Today published a column that said “Tom Brady has gotten an undeserved pass for his past support of Donald Trump.”
Tom Brady was happy to talk politics until he wasn’t.
The Make America Great Again hat in his locker, the flippant endorsement of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump. Only when those ties became inconvenient did Brady decide he wanted to “stick to sports,” and that he preferred to be a beacon of positivity rather than delve into society’s thorny ills.
How mighty white of him.
Brady’s ability to enter and exit the debate at his choosing, to shield himself from accountability, is the height of white privilege. As this country grapples with the far reaches of systemic racism, look no further than Brady, for whom the expectations, and allowances granted, will always be different.
What punishment does Tom Brady deserve for being Donald Trump’s friend?
Ummm, no. From this life long Patriots fan, he’s dead to me. https://t.co/X3nSLzZo7w

Yep, I have always been a Patriots fan and one of Tom Brady. If he is behind trump, I’m done too. Wow I didn’t know. https://t.co/RkdhHKi407

It doesn’t take much to be a fascist these days:
I’m rooting against the fascist Tom brady by cheering for the team whose fans do the tomahawk chop
— czar of all realities (@broom_error) February 8, 2021
It doesn’t take much to be a “white nationalist” either:
I just switched back to law and order. Didn’t realize just how much I dislike (being kind) Tom Brady until now. Knew I wasn’t a fan but just seeing this arrogant white nationalist play was too much for me.
— John A. Johnson (@JohnAJohnson52) February 8, 2021
I don’t care how many rings Tom Brady has, he’s a trump supporter so he’ll always be a loser in my book.
A loser with 7 rings.
— BrooklynDad_Defiant! (@mmpadellan) February 8, 2021
I can’t tell you if Tom Brady is amazing or not, I can only tell you that he embodies white privilege.

A lot of people were upset that the NFL hasn’t apologized to Colin Kaepernick, who is no longer in the league. The difference between Mr. Brady and Mr. Kaepernick is that the latter is not a particularly good quarterback. No one would know about him were it not for his pro-BLM activism. If having a passionate political following should be enough to keep a player in the league, why hasn’t any NFL team hired Tim Tebow?
Funny how we’re all supposed to forget Tom Brady’s politics but not Kap’s.
— Margaret Thornton (@MaggieEThornton) February 7, 2021
Funny how people can separate Tom Brady’s politics from his game, but struggle to do the same when it comes to Kaepernick.
— Ahmed Ali (@MrAhmednurAli) January 25, 2021
Nike still sponsors Colin Kaepernick even though he’s not in the league. I’m sure he’s doing fine. Nike does not sponsor Tom Brady. Mr. Brady appeared to cover the Nike logo on his shirt during the postgame celebrations. Competitor UnderArmor sponsors Mr. Brady.
More hate:
Y’all wanna be racists? Don’t use acronyms created by black people to describe yourself.
G.O.A.T. was created as an acronym by the wife of late boxer and Civil Rights Icon Muhammad Ali
Don’t use it to describe Tom Brady who is a racist & endorser of White Supremacy
FUCK HIM

I’m from the bay area (510) and so is Brady but he’s a big time Trump supporter so i can’t cheer for him. Mac Dre (my favorite bay area rapper) was murdered in Kansas City. Do i can’t cheer for them either.
In conclusion, i hope they both lose.

Former professional player and TV host Shannon Sharpe:
They tried to cancel LeBron last year for his comments on China and wanted him to explain his stance. “You support Black Lives Matter, why aren’t you supporting the people in Hong Kong?” They never asked Tom, “Well, you support Donald Trump, do you support Black Lives Matter?” pic.twitter.com/2laG4zRzmE
— shannon sharpe (@ShannonSharpe) February 3, 2021
rooting for tom brady is basically supporting white supremacy (not reading replies)
— first-mate prance (@bocxtop) February 7, 2021
Tom Brady, by supporting Trump, supports a seditionist movement. Nuff said.

The way y’all worshipping Tom Brady’s MAGA behind ain’t sitting right with me during Black History Month.
— FLEXdanielle (@lexdanielle) February 8, 2021
Countless people complained that Tom Brady winning during Black History Month — especially against a black opposing quarterback — was racist. Here’s a similar view.
Ancestors weve failed you

A former candidate for the Manhattan DA:
Watching the #SuperBowl and seeing so many people in one place is making my heart race. This feels…unsafe.
And, I guess I’m rooting for the team with the racist name over the team with the Trump-loving QB, in a sport that still hasn’t apologized to Colin Kaepernick… #SBLV

Don’t do it “goobie.” You still have the Biden/Harris Regime.
Author Chris Kluwe:
Just a reminder as everyone gushes over Brady that Colin Kaepernick hasn’t been given the chance to compete for a Super Bowl in four years and counting.
— Chris Kluwe, Irredeemable Pudgy Nobody (@ChrisWarcraft) February 8, 2021
Tom Brady is the every day story of white men in America
they get put in the perfect situation, become successful and then get all the credit, when the credit is due to an environment that breeds success
I’m so sick of it

Tom Brady walked into the stadium, maskless. Tom’s company, TB12, took $960K in PPP loans. Shortly after, Tom purchased a yacht. And Tom supported Trump. I don’t see how anyone can look past Tom’s awful behavior and root for him. He’s a great athelete. But a terrible human being.
— Uncovering The Truth (@UncvrngTheTruth) February 8, 2021
Tom Brady’s “maskless” walk inspired another genre of Brady-hate.
Tom Brady arrived at the stadium without a mask on. Maybe that’s all you need to know. That’s all I needed to know.
— Patricia Howie (@PatriciaHowie) February 8, 2021
Tom Brady is a Trumper! He is not going to lower his status with Trump by wearing a mask!

Finally, from the director of an organization dedicated to “restorative justice”:
No matter what happens at the end of today’s Super Bowl, Tom Brady will go down in history…as a trump supporter.
— Adnan Khan (@akhan1437) February 7, 2021
I doubt it. He’ll probably go down as the greatest NFL quarterback — and perhaps player — of all time.
