Paul Ryan Gives Speech Charting the Future Republican Party – Unfortunately He Doesn’t Understand the Past or the Present Republican Party

Paul Ryan was scheduled to speak tonight about the Reagan Ranch about the future of the Republican Party.  The problem is he doesn’t understand the past or the present.

Paul Ryan’s speech was shared with the media earlier today:

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan grew up admiring Ronald Reagan and wielded political power under Donald Trump.

So, it was Ryan, the former Wisconsin lawmaker who represented Janesville and the 1st Congressional District for 20 years, who was selected to lead off a speaker series on the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement.

The setting: the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California.

“Once again, we conservatives find ourselves at a crossroads,” Ryan will say, according to excerpts of the speech he’s expected to give Thursday night.

Without naming Trump, Ryan will add: “And here’s one reality we have to face. If the conservative cause depends on the populist appeal of one personality, or on second-rate imitations, then we’re not going anywhere. Voters looking for Republican leaders want to see independence and mettle.”

This was all outrageous.  Ryan hated President Trump and all he stands for.  He thought he was in charge and the reality was no one cared about Ryan.  America was and is behind President Trump.

Steve Bannon had a young Republican on his show who understands this:

A litmus test to determine whether a Republican is for the Party and the future of America is to see how engaged and enraged they are about the 2020 election.

If there is no emotion behind a position that Trump, the Republican Party, and America got robbed, then they’re not truly present-day and future-day Republicans.
