The time has finally come.

After months of anticipation, the new gourmet grocery store by celebrity Chef Mark McEwan is set to open at Yonge and Bloor in January.

The 17,000-sq-ft store will occupy the entire concourse level of 1 Bloor Street East.

You’ll be able to stock the kitchen with your basics, but the main pull of this spot is the not-so-basics.

The new store will showcase the best from across the McEwan Group, alongside exciting new features designed to cater to a number of occasions from morning until evening.

Some of the special additions include a McEwan’s Café featuring Lavazza roasts, pastries and all-day breakfast, a carving station and rotisserie, a sushi bar and a dry ageing room.

“We bring our restaurant and catering knowledge into our stores,” says Chef Mark McEwan.

“Our chefs make everything in-house from scratch, so why should a grocery store be any different? This will be a store with stories.”

Another major feature of the space? Fabricca pizza.

With dough baked daily and topped with bold flavour combinations, this will soon be the spot to grab a pie. From garden-grown vegetables and robust cheeses to ripe fruits and generous amounts of sausage, any ‘za craving you’ve got is sure to be satisfied.

Get ready to stock up on all of the essentials.

And the non-essentials, that suddenly feel very essential.
