Repair of Recurrent Macular Hole with Autologous ILM and Serum

In this surgical video, Dr. Theodore Leng closes a recurrent macular hole using autologous inner limiting membrane (ILM) and serum. A prior vitrectomy failed to repair the hole. Dr. Leng stains the ILM and uses forceps to position the tissue into the hole. Next, he adds harvested autologous serum over the hole, followed by silicone oil. The hole was closed by postop day 1. Preoperative vision was 20/150, which remained unchanged at 1 week postop.
