Naval Update Progress
More progress is taking place on the naval update functionality - the next big update to hit Rust. A focal point this week is floating cities. It's not clear exactly what these will entail, but along with the grey boxes (base models without textures) of the structures, there is a good amount of work on various types of loot crates, so it seems these floating monuments will have loot. There's also work on outboard motors, a manual anchor, and sails.
It's unknown when the naval update will hit, and unlikely to be for the June update, but probably in the next couple months.
Large Demolish Changes
A handy change for base builders: more deployables can now be demolished within 10 minutes of placement. The list includes the Watchtower, Barricades, Wind Generators, Paddling Pools, and Water Catchers. Great quality-of-life tweak if you misplace something or want to adjust your setup.
New Menu
Looks like a full revamp of the escape menu is underway! While there aren’t any visuals just yet, commits point to a complete overhaul of the system. No word on when it’ll go live, but we’ll keep an eye on it and share more as it develops.
Attack Helicopter Ammo QOL
A solid quality-of-life update is coming for the attack helicopter! Pilots can now choose between HV or incendiary rockets by holding R to bring up a radial menu — just like with weapon attachments. By default, HV rockets are selected, and switching doesn’t trigger a reload, it simply changes what ammo gets prioritized.
Also, you can now press R to manually reload the rocket pods, even if you haven’t fired a full volley. If you still have all 6 rockets loaded, the reload won’t trigger. A nice touch for those high-pressure moments in the air.
Apple Changes
Some tweaks are in for apples this week! You now only need 1 apple (down from 2) to cook up an apple pie. Apples have also been added as a sellable item at water well vendors, and the chance of finding them in water well food caches has been bumped up — so you’ll be seeing a bit more of them around.
