After you have downloaded the Jinvoo Smart App on your Tablet or Phone

After you have downloaded the Jinvoo Smart App on your Tablet or Phone
Got a Few of these from Amazon Black Friday, Very simple to setup, devices only work on a 2.4 Ghz wireless network, so make sure to be on your 2.4 Ghz wireless when setting up to facilitate the process. After you have downloaded the Jinvoo Smart App on your Tablet or Phone, plug the Iselector into the outlet, the device will start Flashing Blue for several seconds, launch the Jinvoo App, register, it will ask for permission to access contacts, etc.. You don't have to provide this, though you will, if you want to share control with somebody else in your household and you want them to be able to use their own device. The Iselector device will register/pair with your phone/tablet and that's it!. Plug in a lamp or any device into the socket, then just press the power switch on the screen. Pairing with alexa is simple as long as the plug is in pairing mode. Works Great!!

I have seen a number of bad reviews for this product but I now have 4 of them in my room for a variety of devices, the only annoying part is setting it up because all devices have to be on a 2.4ghz wifi and sometimes I forget to switch before I begin. Setup takes maybe 2 minutes total and once its setup it does not matter what wifi your phone is off. The plug connects to the internet, I even turn things on and off while I am at work as needed. I connected the plugs to my google account, so although I dont have a google home device I can say "ok google turn on my lights" to my phone and my lights will kick right on without any delay. I mostly use my google assistant on my phone to control everything but the devices themselves are perfect. The app functions as expected. I have had 2 of the plugs for about 6 months and the other 2 for a couple of weeks and have not had a single issue with any of them. They also have an overall lower profile then some of the other wifi plugs I have seen, so I am able to plug other things into a standard outlet as these do not take up the entire outlet for a single plug. I have also had several power outages without any issues, 2 of my plugs are actually plugged into a power strip that is connected to a light switch controlled outlet and everytime I leave I would turn off the outlet. The plugs after regaining power are controllable again after less than 1 minute.

I bought the Wemo switch before from Belkin and it didn't work with my router and was a hassle to set up. I soon ordered the Iselector because its high rating. I was worry initially due to the product being new and not as many reviews as some other more well-known ones. But the product and the app proved me wrong as it set up quick and easy without any hassle! The app is not as function rich as some of others on the market, but it gets the thing done, connecting to my google home works great too. The way they set up the plug is a lot better compare to Wemo. You'll select the correct wifi and type in the password BEFORE you connect to the plug, therefore the plug is able to correctly connect to the corresponding wifi from the info given through the phone app. Wemo app however, ask you to connect to the plug for the setup, this is a huge issue for the IOS users as apple implemented the function for the newer IOS to drop the wifi without internet connection after a while to search for better wifi/ just go back on cellular. This totally mess up the setup for the plug.

I rated a 4, simply because I cannot speak to anything else than my own usage with Google Mini. After doing lots of searching, and *almost* getting a single tplink for More (these were on sale for ~$20usd ), I purchased these to work with my Google Home Mini. Set up was easy:
    1) Download the Smart Life app from the Google store, create your account.
    2) Plug in (A Single) Adapter.
    3) Plug turned device into Adapter.
    4) Launch the Smart Life App
    5) Let it find the (single) adapter.
    6) Verify the 'power' switch option works in Smart Life.
    7) Give it a Name (ie Living Room 1)
    8) Repeat steps 2 through 7 for the other plug.
    9) Optional: Create a Group for the adapters
    10) Open Google Home app on your phone.
    11) Go to Home Control, add the Smart Life app, you will need to log in and grant access.
    12) Sign in, and set up your adapters in Google Home.
    13) Test them through Google Mini.

It really only took me about 5 minutes to get them both set up and hooked in, once I had my account set up in Smart Life.

Now, I can say Hey BooBoo, turn on/off Living Room All, or do it through individual adapter names. (yes, you can go Hey BooBoo to Google Home). Also, these do NOT block the 'upper' outlet.

So, 20 bucks for two adapters, $39 for Google mini (bought it during Xmas sale, think it was that), I can control my lights with voice. It is very handy for going to bed. The only problem is me remembering the all command!

    I have NOT:
    Set up a Schedule
Set up any other controls through the Smart Life app.

I have only had these for a few days, so I cannot speak to the reliability. If they die before the warranty expires, I will update this review.

I am 'all in' with Google, so I can't speak as to how well they are work with other smart devices like Alexa or Apple.

Upon opening the box these came with poorly translated instructions which made very little sense. According to the manual they should connect to your smart phone via bluetooth and you can configure them to connect to wifi that way. I was unable to get this method to work and instead had to manually set them to AP mode and only after about the 5th try did they suddenly work. So that's a few stars off for poor instructions and difficult setup.

Once they were setup and online I was able to use the Alexa app to configure them, set schedules and turn them on/off with voice commands which was pretty fun... then I discovered these have no on/off state memory once they are turned off. I'll give you an example of why this is terrible, I'm using these to power fish pumps and filters, if there was a brief power outage these would NOT turn the pumps and filters back on when power is restored and the fish would likely die unless someone was there to manually power them back on. With the Etekcity, TP-LINK and many other brands they REMEMBER if they were on or off prior to losing power and simply restore themselves to that state. This is also important for lamps or other devices that are connected to wall switches, once you power them off the only way to power them back on is via the app, the wall switch would be useless. So that's another few starts off.

Then I discovered that the Etekcity models run ~$12.50 each while these are ~$10 each. Why deal with so much hassle and a sub quality product to save $2.50, just buy the better product.
