Season 2 of "24" produced by and starring Kiefer Sutherland (in 2002) features a president being deliberately fed disinformation via a crooked intelligence community to convince him to authorize the bombing of three Arab nations, all of which were enemies of Israel. In the show, the president's Cabinet invoked the 25th Amendment to remove President Palmer from power so that the Pentagon could get what it wanted: WAR. The show also features a nuclear bomb detonating in the continental United States after NSA officials helped smuggle the bomb into the country. Notably, not only was 24 decades ahead of its time in depicting the eruption of war between the intelligence community and the executive, but it was also better TV than almost anything produced today. For starters, 24 wasn't "woke," and there was never a dull moment in the series. If only screenwriters today were as good as they were in 2002...
