Group knocks Trump by holding ‘first protest in space’, The Hill
“The Autonomous Space Agency Network (ASAN) launched a “protest in space” against President Trump this week in solidarity with the upcoming March for Science, by sending a weather balloon to space with a printed-out anti-Trump tweet attached to it.”
Keith’s note: Quote Source: “You develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction with the state of the world, and a compulsion to do something about it. From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch. – Edgar D. Mitchell, Apollo 14

Such a profound message on the environment vs profit: Take a look at close look at how carbon, deregulation, Keystone and coal are affecting the Earth…

“as you acknowledge you may not have thought deeply about some of the issues he shouted about throughout his political campaign”

I am sorry, but this seems kind of pointless. Even if the intended target changes to whatever ideal they are trying to impose, it would not change anything in an overall sense.

Now, if they said the target was *every* politician, dictator, zealot (religious and non-religious), and the extremists of the world, it might be more meaningful. Of course, in the end, humans are going to be, well, human. Thanks for the context, as I think the original is a much more powerful message.

I applaud each and every voice.

Here’s the thing – each small voice might seem petty, or self-serving, or disagreeable, even, particularly if that voice challenges your own.

But our voices are all we have. When we dishonor dissenters, we dishonor ourselves.
