Text description provided by the architects. The plot is located in a newly developed area on the outskirts of the city. A varied mixture of housing is emerging as a result of unregulated development. The investors wished to introduce a calming element into the location, to have an economy house designed and to create their own enclave.

The basic concept revolves around the division of the house into two halves: northern and southern. The southern half is dedicated to the common family life opening to the sun exposure. It offers a connection to the garden, the luxury of an elevated area by the fireplace, an inward-facing study, and a terrace boasting a view of tree tops. The northern half is intended for the individual family members and contains bedrooms, a hall and technical facilities. Instead of a hallway, the interior layout features a common open area for family encounters.

The spatial layout of the house stems from the geometry of construction. The ground plan scheme consisting of 4 by 4 meters modules constitutes a frame into which the individual functional units of the house are fitted. Windows span the entire width of the square module. Full size fibrous cement boards are used on the facade. Stairs are from steel plates, banister from a single piece of glass. Skipped fields in the outer shell reveal glimpses of the wood substance of the house in places of window apertures and the terrace. A fireplace and air-water heat pump heat the house.

The garage is disguised by a knoll fashioned from excavated soil. It thus becomes part of the garden, doubling as a cellar and heavy element complementing the light assembled house. A picket fence forms a blurred boundary between protected privacy and the environs.
