Text description provided by the architects. Our background in interior architecture and design taught us to grasp the space and the object as a set. We fall in the project with the eye of the architect and use the inventiveness, the concern of the detail of the designer. As the structure and the roof were in good condition, we had a good working base. Our goal was to rehabilitate the workshop without adulterating it and protecting a track of its past. Keeping its identity, without changing the existing openings, could avoid us long and uncertain administrative procedures.

In spite of a limited budget but much simplicity and inventiveness in the drawing, internet for the major part of prescriptions and a super local joiner (François Caumont-L'Atelier du château), we could complete the project successfully.

To join perfect harmony with the environment and the local style, we reinterpreted the codes of traditional Savoyard architecture Work with local materials (ecological) as the larch, the slate and the black granite taking them out of usual clichés of the local chalet.

Our customer wanted a large opened and bright space. He would like to stroll at home, settle in different spaces and take advantages of perspectives offered by the place...M. told us " I love my home because people who come here for the first time feel immediately comfortable"

Spaces are organized according to the sun cycle (bedrooms in the East, living spaces in the West/South).We conceived the space like a graphic architectural walk. The space staged by the light brings a succession of day and night sensations .In the day, large mesh curtains (Nya nordiska) in the main space filter the light, giving this sweet sensation to be in a cloud. At night, they are lit and the loft dons itself finest attire of lights.

The large poster (Dolls by PetOrly) is a sliding frame which can come and hide a bay window (South terrace) and filter the light. Visible from different spaces, the multimedia lounge was a great pleasure to conceive and enjoyed us: thought like a child hut in the middle of the lounge like a kind of moucharabieh bookcase. This special room in the space puzzles the visitor with exterior lining in mirror which breaks the volume. Once inside, the mirror becomes a white surface to highlight the idea "cocooning snow". The volcano in staff (wink at Oscar Niemeyer) situated above the lounge is also lit when the night has come, giving to this hut a peculiar atmosphere (imagine science fiction).

The main bedroom has been thought like a hotel suite with a large dressing-room and its bathroom opened in the bedroom. Larch and slate are still present in a spirit of coherence.
