Campaigners were seen outside the Brixton Ritzy last night, urging people to join the boycott of the Picturehouse-owned cinema.
The campaigners were stood outside the popular cinema in Windrush Square, holding banners with the captions, “Boycott the Ritzy! They won’t pay a living wage,” and “Boycott the Ritzy! They sack trade unionists.”
The captions refer to the long standing dispute over Ritzy workers being paid the Living Wage and the recent sacking of union reps from their jobs at the cinema.
Another strike is planned for this Saturday, 1st July at 4pm outside the Ritzy, with a free after-party at the Prince Albert across the road starting up at 4pm.
