Canada’s Top Dental Researcher and Fluoride Expert Critique’s Report by Calgary’s O’Brien Institute for Public Health

July 22 2019 UPDATE: Dr. Limeback’s apparently-censored submission to the City of Calgary may be viewed/downloaded at the bottom of this page.

Calgary’s O’Brien Institute for Public Health (OIPH) recently submitted their much-awaited water fluoridation report, which they promised would be unbiased, to Calgary Council.

However, despite their claims of neutrality and objectivity, a review of the O’Brien Institute’s social media activity, newsletters, etc., of recent years has uncovered an abundance of evidence documenting the Institute’s firmly entrenched pro-fluoridation position when it comes to artificial water fluoridation.  Based on their new report, we find their demonstration of bias continues, despite OIPH almost “bending over backwards” to give the opposite impression.

This is hardly surprising, given that the O’Brien Institute’s Scientific Director, Dr. William Ghali, made clear to Calgary Council on Feb. 25th that the Institute’s report would be based mainly on a massive but deeply flawed report from a disturbingly secretive and unaccountable, biased (pro-fluoridation), non-governmental organization called Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH).

In response to the biased new report from the O’Brien Institute, our Canadian hero and former resident of Mississauga, Dr. Hardy Limeback, has been tweeting about it to Calgary Council:

It appears that someone has not been pleased with Dr. Limeback’s critiquing of the OIPH report.  His entire submission for inclusion in the agenda of the City of Calgary’s Standing Policy Committee on Community and Protective Services’ Hearing on Water Fluoridation,  scheduled for July 24, 2019, was suspiciously omitted from the agenda, (along with 2 submissions from FFP) despite having been submitted according to the city’s protocol and on time.  (FFP’s query to the city clerk regarding the reason for omitting our submissions has gone unanswered.)

The intrigue continues with Calgary Council voting on July 22nd to cancel the scheduled committee meeting, just 2 days prior to the bombshell “expose” that clearly many people had already worked very hard to prepare for.

Dr. Limeback’s omitted/censored submission may be viewed further below, and downloaded here.

Dr. Limeback, along with a group of scientists, researchers, physicians, toxicologists and dentists from across North American, Australia, Ireland and the UK, also submitted a 29 page Statement in Opposition to Water Fluoridation to the City of Calgary and the O’Brien Institute of Public Health, refuting the CADTH report.

Fluoride Free New Zealand has published a very good news article about the OIPH’s new report, highlighting the fact that the OIPH was less biased in its review of recent neurotoxicity studies as compared to other areas of fluoride research.
