We all know that violent crime is up. It's up as much as 10%. What you might not know is that prosecutions are down about 10% as well. The current prosecutor's office isn't able to handle to rising crime and our growing population.
I am running to rebuild the prosecutor's office and be a community and law enforcement partner. This role is about more than just prosecuting cases; it's about making sure our community feels safe again. I believe in a Bonneville County where everyone gets a fair shot, and our legal system reflects our community's values while holding offenders accountable. John Malek brings a unique blend of military discipline, legal expertise, and a steadfast commitment to fairness and integrity to the job. He is a veteran with over 15 years of military service as a military nuclear weapons operator and JAG officer. With his years navigating the intricacies of the criminal legal system, John stands out as a uniquely qualified candidate for Bonneville Prosecuting Attorney.

Justice Expert: As Chief of Military Justice for multiple military tours, John refined his expertise, leading teams through hundreds of court cases for serious offenses, including murder and sexual assault. Leadership and Integrity: John's career began as an ICBM Crew Commander, where he honed his leadership and decision-making skills under pressure. His tenure as a flight commander, instructor, and then later as a special operations attorney further demonstrated his ability to lead with integrity and dedication.
Advocate for Fair Treatment: Throughout his career, John successfully defended clients against unfounded accusations, securing honorable discharges, retention in service, and the rightful withdrawal of charges. His efforts have saved lives and careers. John treats everyone with dignity and is dedicated to truth and justice in every case.
Legal and Federal Experience: John's role as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and his deployment in advisory capacities in Africa and Somalia have endowed him with a broad perspective on legal issues and the challenges of seeking justice in challenging circumstances.
