Now TV joins Netflix, Amazon on Roku’s universal search

The universal search feature on Roku is one of the media player’s best features, and it just got even better.

Roku has added Now TV to Roku Search, which means you can browse the service without ever having to enter the Now TV app.

It means Now TV is joining the likes of Netflix, Amazon Video, and Google Play in Roku’s roster of universally searchable streaming channels.

Universal search is a great way to quickly find out whether any Roku channel has the TV show or movie you’re looking for, without having to dive into individual apps.

“Imagine you decided tonight is movie night and you heard good things from a colleague about Inception, with Leonardo DiCaprio, but you have no idea where to find it,” explains Roku.

Roku continues: “With Roku Search, you can find it quickly and will notice that you can watch it for free with your Now TV subscription or rent it from Amazon Video for just £2.49.”

You can also ‘Follow’ content through Roku Search so you can easily find it to watch later.

It’s poised as a product for customers who don’t want to become Sky subscribers, but still want to watch some of Sky’s wide-ranging content offering.
