Halo’s Master Chief Collection is coming to PC (on Steam!), adds Halo Reach

Halo, as a series, is often lauded as the game that revolutionised console first-person shooters. Beyond the first two game though, it’s not been available on PC, which is where most FPS games actually belong. That’s all changing. In the company’s Inside Xbox show, Microsoft confirmed that the Halo Master Chief Collection is finally making its way to PC, bringing with it nearly every single Halo FPS. That includes arguably the best game of the lot, the 2010 prequel game Halo: Reach – which hasn’t been part of the collection. It’ll be nice to have Halo Reach around. Wait, what?

Even better though, the collection will be available on Steam along with Microsoft’s unloved Windows Store. The games will be released individually, in chronological order, meaning that Reach will be the first game out of the gate before moving on to the first actual game, Halo: Combat Evolved. That game will be followed by Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST’s campaign, and then Halo 4. According to Microsoft, they’re releasing them individually (though as part of the collection) to get things right for PC gamers. That means they can expect 4K support, FOV sliders, ultrawide monitor support, unlocked and adjustable framerates and the other tinkering options that make PC gamers rub their nipples with glee.

“We’re embarking on a journey with our community to build a PC experience that delivers on PC gamer expectations,” community director Brian Jarrard said. “The team is passionately committed to ensuring that all of the features, bells, and whistles expected in a modern PC title are included with MCC.”

There’s no pricing or release date information available, but it’s likely that with a PC release it’ll be part of the Games Pass collection. That, however, means going through the Windows Store if you want it on the cheap. If you’re willing to pony up for it – even to see what the heck the fuss is about – it’s already listed on Steam.

Xbox is dead. Thank you, Phil Spencer. I assume Sony will fuck Microsoft also in the next generation.
It saddens me that once great console with great exclusives is now dead because of braindead decisions made by retarded twats

I am excited about this, but we will have to see when we get Halo 5 because I believe that has not been confirmed for release on PC yet. And I hope it will be part of the Game Pass, to which I am a subscriber!

BTW, cheers for saying FPS games belong on PC. I’m a proud member of the Master Race!!!

“Halo, as a series, is often lauded as the game that revolutionized console first-person shooters.” But is slightly above average if compared to PC First person shooters. 😛

Look at you acting all concerned about XBox & Microsoft!? You DO know that console hardware isn’t profitable right? They make money from software. How many Xbox/Sony consoles are out there vs gaming PC’s? God Of War sold what, 10m copies? Let’s be very optimistic & say 2m people went out and bought PS4’s for the game(remember Sony didn’t make money off those consoles, but made money from the 2m games sold.) Now imagine if God of War was on Steam, being such a fantastic game, they probably would’ve sold +40m copies not? I play on Xbox because I prefer console to PC, simple as that. If selling 1st party games on Steam makes MS more money thus enabling them to buy more studios/invest more in gaming to ultimately make more games, I’m very very happy! I take it from your comments that you do not up sell to Super Size at the Mc Donalds you work at…….you should, THAT’S where they make their money!

I don’t see any good games from Microsoft. Seems that selling SOOO MANY games on PC doesn’t make them enough money. Crapdown 3, That zombie game everyone forgot even exists, Sea of Tears…. Much profit. Awesome games. They can buy all the game studios in the world and still make shit.

Yeah, I work at McDonalds. And at Wendys. And live in a cardboard box hugging my PS4 to stay warm during winter.

Was hyped up. Expected to see someone who will crush me with facts. A grown ass dude who knows what he is talking about. But then a child entered the room. Pathetic.

        P.S
It might be a shocker for a MS fanboy, but Microsoft doesn’t sell games on Steam. Only Halo.

Consoles aren’t Microsoft’s core business . Microsoft probably have realized that consoles just hold back progress and if that means they invest more in PC, i wont complain.

I know, but if they stayed true to what they were doing with Xbox 360, everything would have been different.
And the argument that consoles are holding back progress… it’s just lame. Look at BF games, Metro… maxed out PC versions look eons better. I think that this argument only holds back evolution of some individuals.

Look bottom line is when consoles make as much money as server licensing Microsoft will invest more till then, every year will be Forza, Gears and Halo. At least adding PC, will help to increase revenue otherwise the console will go the same way as Nokia

Spewing out same shit every year has helped Activision and other AAA-publishers big time. There is even a term for that — fatique.
This strategy won’t help in a long run. But hey, MShit can do whatever they want, I’m just saying that Xbox is dead without exclusives, and I don’t see the reason for buying their next console

If you don’t see a reason to buy their next console……DON’T! But throwing tantrums and crying about something you don’t care about is insane!

I care, I wanted a reason to buy it.
Guy supporting Microsoft for shitting over loyal people stupid enough to buy a console without games is calling me insane. Ironic
