Google and Amazon encouraged this behavior a few years ago with Pretty Please and Magic Word functionality respectively. This was designed to teach children manners by having them say “please” and “thank you” to the assistant. Some of you might also feel a little weird making a request or issuing a command without minding your manners.

Still, these virtual assistants aren’t people, so it’s not like they’ll feel offended if you don’t say please or thank them. Nevertheless, you can comment below if you have more on your mind regarding this poll.
