Krzysztof Platek, the spokesman for the Armaments Agency of the Polish Ministry of Defense, announced the transfer of PT-91 Twardy tanks to Ukraine, APA reports.

Platek shared the relevant information in an interview. He noted that the replacement tanks from Ukraine to Poland would be brought from South Korea.

The shortage of more than 200 T-72 tanks and a certain number of PT-91 tanks – here I can’t say exactly how many – will be fully covered, even with an excess, because these are tanks of a much higher, better quality level,” said Krzysztof Platek.

It is planned that tanks from South Korea will be delivered to Poland during 2022-2026. They will replace obsolete combat vehicles sent to the war in Ukraine.

In addition, Platek added that he received a fast delivery guarantee from the Korean side. He was promised that Poland would receive “a really large number of tanks.” We are talking about those vehicles that are now in the reserve of the South Korean army.
