Re: Error compiling movie after installed the new Premiere Pro CC_2017
I upgraded from 2x GTX580s because of issues with GPU support in Premiere. Now I'm having problems with my new GTX1080 in that the option to enable GPU acceleration is completely inaccessible. During my research for this card, I haven't read that it isn't supported by Adobe. Additionally, I use a Titan X Pascal without any issues and do not understand why an older card wouldn't be supported if in fact that's the case. With so many benchmarks and tests out there for these cards surely, there must be something wrong with my installation or system. Are these cards officially supported? How can I fix this issue?
Thanks for your time!
Thanks Peru, I didn't know that. I think I may have found a solution and it's fairly simple. I am conducting a clean install of the NVIDIA drivers through a custom installation. There may be some remnants from the previous card drivers throwing it out of whack.
Update:
I completed the clean install of nvidias drivers and the acceleration is still grayed out.
2nd Update:
After restarting the system and Premiere several times GPU acceleration is now working!

What's the computer/OS you're running it on?
I've seen a number of PC people running this without issue, and a few with issues, also a few problems with OS/drivers on the Mac side here on the forum.

I really hope so I need to find a solution ASAP. I've already spent a good deal of time troubleshooting this. The below post seems to indicate that the 1000 series isn't compatible with Adobe products. If people are using these successfully I'd really like to talk to them. Seems hard to find straight answers on this.

There's another thread where Bill Gehrke posts on his results ...
I'd suggest going over to the Hardware forum in general for hardware-based questions like this ...

Ah. I found that link before purchasing the card and Bill confirmed "great results" with all 1000 series cards, so I ordered the card same day. I've added another response to that thread so maybe someone will have a suggestion, but as far as Premiere 17.0.1 is concerned, does it officially support the GTX 1080?

Adobe no longer "officially supports" video cards, as they have stopped testing them for compatibility.
