Dreadful

onof a big airport if it isn't properly staffed.
Had to wait 1 1/2 hours for my case to arrive on the carousel and then it arrived on number 3 instead of number 8.I won't use this airport again after my return flight.

Awful place with extremely frustrated…

Awful place with extremely frustrated staff whose work target is annoy you as much as they could. I met the most annoying lady that made me throw away almost every liquid. She did everything she could to make this experience the worst I ever had at the airport. She was checking and rechecking everything throught the scanning machine on purpose till she find something. (Even solid lipsticks were not allowed if they are not part of one small plastic bag.) what is the rule with one bag per person anyway?! I had just a small one and she made ironical comments “how are you planning to close that bag?” with her stupid smile. These people who hates their job (and probably their life as well) should never work with people. There is so much waste cause everybody was throwing away all their things (even if the plastic bag was slighty bigger but with 5 smll items).
I will never come back. Totally awful experience.

This is the worst airport I’ve been in

This is the worst airport I’ve been in. The “line” just to clear passport control is always an hour long, just wraps around like a snake, and I’ve got at least another hour to just get on a train to town. Very disorganized, way understaffed, hard to navigate. Avoid this airport at all costs (I will never travel through or to here again).

Poor airport

I got here from Istanbul airport and it was like landing back to the 20th century.

There is absolutely nothing interesting to do in terminal 1 zone B, some of the electric sockets are not working, there is only 1 working restaurant and 1 cafe open after the security check. The worst part is you can't get a bottle of water under 4.5€ - disgusting!

On the positive side, there is enough seating area and quite a few toilets which are kept very clean.

This is the worse airport in Europe

This is the worse airport I have ever had the displeasure of flying in and out of. I had the displeasure twice and never again. I will pay more money for my flight to avoid flying through Frankfurt. I like Luftansa Airline, but will avoid just to avoid it. The antiquated bus system is appalling. The distances between terminals is crazy. There are no information counters. It is a horribly antiquated airport.

Worst airport by far, ever!!! Staff and people and signs had us going in circles. Inbound from USA with transfer to budapest. A1 is downstairs but they turned us away at tge syairs. Spent one hour before getting directed to all passport lane. Not certain how this will turn out.

I won't be coming back

I won't be coming back. I flew via Frankfurt from Hong Kong to Geneva with tired 7 & 10 yr old boys. The sign posts/bad design created unnecessary confusion during our transit in both directions & the surly staff and no trollies just added to the poor experience. The only positives were charging points at the departure gates and the possibility to keep water through security, but even this we “found” out due to someone kindly pointing it out, not from the signs or staff.

Frankfurt airport Germany's reputation

Frankfurt airport undermines my perception of Germany as a place of good design and efficient processes. Huge and slow moving queues for passport control and security that took more than 1 hour to get through. Then when I arrived at the gate (D52) there was only a vending machine. If you want to encourage people to get to the gate early because you can't sort out other issues at least provide a decent experience when they get there. I will definitely avoid travelling through here in the future.

Frankfurt airport is the worst airport…

Frankfurt airport is the worst airport in the world. It is old, stinking, they take u by bus, they tell people with walkers to climb stairs up and down. It is clear Germany is becoming poorer by the day. A coffee costs 5 dollars and they place doesn’t even let u sit. How do people live here. Rude rude rude

Frankfurt: Absolutely the worst

My worst travel experiences have been at Frankfurt. This airport has got to be the worst in Europe. The online and kiosk info tells you what terminal the food services are in but no gate numbers. There is very little seating other than the gates. The gate we were at had rat traps zip tied to the legs of every bench. They changed the gate on us without making an announcement (I can't get the Lufthansa login because Lufthansa) and then we were treated to an packed SRO 10 minute bus ride where the driver apparently was trying to make up time. The corners were tight. Then we stood for several minutes at the top of the stairs up to the plane breathing in jet fumes.

Traumatic experience at security checkpoint

I just had a very traumatic experience at the security checkpoint in Frankfurt airport Terminal 2. I am a young woman and I was traveling alone. The female security agent was very rude to me in a highly disrespectful and unethical way. She body checked me. I was polite and collaborative. When she checked my breast, she squeezed my nipple very hard and asked me "what is that?" in a suspicious way. I thought she was going to rip my nipple off. I was so chocked and humiliated, I froze and answered "that's my bra". Then, she talked to me roughly and asked me to turn around like if I was some animal. I felt terrible after that experience, violated somehow. I felt physical pain too.
Of course, I had nothing hidden on me because I'm a honest citizen. I have never broken the law and I respect the rules. I am not a criminal.

Does Frankfurt airport realize the kind of violence this is? This is abusive to touch a human being like that without any valid reason. This shouldn't be trivialized. I am still very affected by the behavior of this female security agent and how she dehumanized me.

Extrem schlechte Beschilderung

Extrem schlechte Beschilderung. Zu klein. Keine offensichtliche, direkte Route. Und es war als ob man in einem Labirinth war. Never had as bad signage in an airport. Getting to customs and to car rental centre was an ordeal. We walked 5 km for no reason. We asked a police officer who confirmed everyone's bad experience. Disgraceful. Disappointed.

Rude security staff

The security staff are extremely rude. We had flown into Frankfurt from another German airport with no issues at all. Here we were both stopped, touched all over, hands down the back of my trousers, rudely told to sit down for checking my shoes. Age shouldn't come into it, there should be mutual respect, but the young woman could have been my daughter. Please teach your staff some manners.

Chaotic at every stage, allow plenty of time.

Every stage of flying from here is hard work. The layout and organisation within T1 is completely chaotic, you should arrive about 3 hours ahead of your flight if you want to make it through check-in, bag drop, security, and passport control in time - all of which will have their own seperate shambolic systems.

Awful

Awful. Incoming Singapore airlines were not given a landing slot, so bussed miles away to find plane for outward journey - hour's delay. Awaiting flight to Edinburgh on return, bus didn't arrive, so delayed again. Staff rude and unhelpful. Ridiculous gate numbering, so hard to find. Lufthansa need to work with airport management. I'm done with Frankfurt.

Incompetent, rude staff

Delayed flights. No explanation, no information. Two very rude female flight attendants at the gate. One kept insisting that the passport scan machine worked fine and almost yelled at people for stopping up and awaiting instructions when the bloody thing beeped like it was one fire. The other kept insisting she spoke English and don't understand my question about the length of seatbelts - I have put on a few and was worried if the belts were shorter than the ones I just flew with which was no problem. She ended up giving me two seats instead which is not necessary - and in front of everyone, and I ended up losing my aisle seat. When I got through the beeping machine, they both laughed at me and at the same time scolded me for stopping at a red light and an error message. This was the delayed 17:00 flight to Salzburg on March 24'th at gate 23. A young brunette woman and an elderly/middle aged brunette lady. I was outraged at the bad service, having already sat through one delayed flight with very sweet and helpful staff. My entire family have tried avoiding that airport for years. Last time because my sister was stuck there over night, and no one helped find accommodation. You have so much staff on that should be fired immediately - they treat your passengers like criminal delinquents. If I never see that airport again, it will be too soon. Check who you are hiring! You don't speak to and treat passengers that way!

Frankfurt Airport- A Dumpster Fire

Passport control was out of control; disorganized mobs feeding in to the booths from all directions. The staff stopped caring, and had no spine to control the situation, or offer any help to lost travelers.
To top it off, this airport just didn't ship my checked luggage with me- they left it in Germany.
The staff needs to be fired with managerial changes made, and belt paths need to be added to control the passport lines, like in most airports.

mice have it better than non Europeans

The local German mice have private little motels near all food stands where they can comfortably rest. Passport Control for Non-Europeans makes transfer passengers wait 2 hours. That way they'll be forced to run through the kilometer long terminal to catch their connections and not notice the rodents.

Massive improvement!

What an improvement!

Flying with Lufthansa was a delightful experience from start to finish! The Frankfurt Airport, like a well-choreographed dance, seamlessly whisked me through with no stress even with a short transfer window. The Lufthansa staff were not just friendly, they were like travel companions armed with smiles and efficiency. The prompt service made me feel like a VIP, and I must say, the only turbulence I encountered was in my stomach from laughing with the cheerful flight attendants. Thumbs up for a journey that was both efficient and entertaining and huge congratulations for ensuring my bag was able to join me this time!

Worst airport in our round the world tripe are travelling around the world and…

We are travelling around the world and so far this if the worst airport by a long way. Confusing signs sent to wrong queue. Long queues. Rude, arrogant, female security staff. No fast track for business class as they do at all other airports we've been too. Lufthansa lounge looks like a
cafeteria and they don't call flights. One star is for the one nice male security guard and the lounge food was quite okay. Hope I never need to return.
