At some point, even Parrotheads need to add a bit of qualified nursing care to their routine of endless mai tais and cheeseburgers. Soon they’ll be able to find that in a paradise being built by their supreme leader, Jimmy Buffett courtesy of a planned string of Margaritaville retirement homes. According to the website for Latitude Margaritavile, the first of the communities is being planned in Daytona Beach, Florida, and it promises that the party will continue well into the golden years.

The paradise where you can “grow older, but not up” promises homes starting in the low $200s, with furnished models slated to open in early 2018 for residents who have to be 55 or older. It also promises that more locations will be coming soon. Author, musician, Broadway producer and restaurateur Buffett has teamed with development company Minto Communities on the project. “It’s going to be a very fun place,” Minto vice president Bill Bullock told ABC News of the $1 billion project that is expected to feature 7,000 2- and 3-bedroom homes. “We expect our first residents to be living in the community by late summer of 2018.” Bullock claims that there have already been ovr 10,000 registrants in the first two weeks of offers.
