Ps4 pro Destiny 2 Limited edition console. Game can't go for more than 5 minutes without freezing and resetting. Frustrated.

Ok, the game is in my PS4 pro and guys... it freezes at the same point as it did in the beta. Please fix this. My Setup: PS4 pro with 500GB Samsung 850EVO SSD and the newest firmware and the latest Update for Destiny 2 (1.02).

To whoever is still checking this thread: It's the hardware. I just got my PSPro back after convincing Sony to fix it. They replaced the motherboard, and now I can play Rise of the Tomb Raider and Diablo 3 at 4k without crashing. When I first brought my Pro to Sony they said they couldn't find a problem. When I got it back, I ran the RotTR demo and Diablo 3 while recording my gameplay with OBS and controlling the unit with Remote Play (I don't have a capture card, so this was my solution). When I brought my Pro back, I included a disc containing recordings of 15 crashes, some ending in a 34878-0 error report, some with a checkerboard pattern, a few that forced me to restart the unit. One recording even showed the framerate drop that some of us encounter. In all cases, I started and ended the recordings with a trip to the error history list (Settings > System > Error History). The errors weren't being logged by the system, so there's nothing for them to see in the history despite the unit prompting me to send an error report. An itemized list of the videos and what errors they represent at what timestamps seems to have convinced them. I got my Pro fixed. If D2 is anything like RotTR or Diablo 3, then I should be fine come September 6. :) If you find that this helps you, please pass it on: it's defective hardware. Guardians still have a chance to get their Pros fixed before Sept 6. :) Good luck and hope you make it for the launch.

If anyone is still coming to this thread I just wanted to give a heads up, this issue is most certainly hardware related. After another game continued to crash (No Mans Sky) I bit the bullet and just bought the white Pro that comes out on launch day. Sony has some sort of hardware issue and it's a shame NO ONE in a position to make more of an issue about this is reporting on it. The users affected aren't on the level of the RRoD but Google searching will show many threads like this one on many different publisher/developer forums, end result always being contact Sony. Be aware if you don't have your purchase receipt then Sony will refuse to give you repair service, happened to me and I've been a -blam!-ing fanboy of theirs for 20 years, not saying I deserve special treatment but damn what a slap in the face to customer loyalty.

Got my Pro back from Sony (UK) today. RotTR demo now works perfectly whereas it would crash constantly after a couple of minutes (same as D2 beta). Shame I can't test that on my system. Fingers crossed that everything else works. FYI the delivery note said my system was repaired with no other info as to what Sony did. It is definitely my original system as I checked the serial number, so definitely some bad internal hardware. I urge all fellow Destiny fans with a PS4 Pro to test it with Rise of the Tomb Raider demo before D2 comes out. It might save you a lot of stress at launch. Good luck everyone.

Going to add my name to the list of people who had trouble with the Destiny 2 Beta with this error, and had my PS4 Pro replaced via warranty service and now I am having no issues. Obviously, I can't test this against the beta anymore, but as others have noted - Rise of the Tomb Raider was another title that exhibited very very similar behavior to the Destiny 2 Beta with how it would crash. Before I sent my unit in, I tested the RotTR demo with my unit and it was crashing almost immediately after you gain control of the Lara (similar to my experience with the D2 beta). Now, with the replaced/fixed unit I can play the entire RotTR demo without any issues. (Sidenote: that game looks GORGEOUS in 4k HDR) Wish there was some other way to test that this is now fully fixed with the new unit, but I'm fairly confident that come Destiny 2 launch day I'll be OK. Reeeeeally curious how this is all going to shake out come the full launch though. Especially for those who didn't replace their units.

I've just got my Pro replacement. I had the same CE-34878-0 error before the replacement as everyone. UPDATE: I edited the post for clarification. UPDATE 2: I took my replacement to Authorized Service Center. I told them that the replacement had the same issues as my original one. I got Return Material Authorization from them so I went to the retail store where I had bought my Pro and got a totally brand new one with accessories as you can buy at any retail. Now this new one doesn't have any issue. RotTR runs without any issue. The main difference I have perceived that the fan rotation speed changes for different stresses. It's very silent but it's audible. My original and the first replacement were deadly silent. They fans had never changed their speed. They were like a passive cooled unit. Now I'm pretty sure that my previous units had hardware issues.

Guys I'm having this issue as well. I have been able to get passed the mission however. First day of beta release I turned on my PS4, from rest mode, and crashed at Zavala 3 times in a row until I just restarted my console. After I restarted it I was able to clear the entire mission just fine. Now today I turn on my PS4 pro, from rest mode, and crash at Zavala on my newly made Titan on my first attempt. So I restart my PS4 pro again and I'm able to clear the mission just fine after the restart. I have since made 2 more Warlocks and a 2nd Titan by constantly deleting characters just to test the issue and have been able to clear the mission each time crash free. Another thing to note is that after the very first crash I did also go into my display settings and turned my display to Automatic, down from 2160RGB and then restarted and was able to clear the mission perfectly. After the first successful clear, I turned my display settings BACK to 2160RGB and have had 0 issues to far on 4 successful characters. I think the main issue, at least in my case, may stim from a prolonged period of rest mode. Both instances of playing Destiny 2 beta I'm which I've experienced crashes have been while playing on a PS4 pro that has been booted from a rest mode period of more than 6 hours (overnight). Now while I'm fully aware of the fact that some people will say that simply restarting their console or changing to Automatic display didn't help, one or the other has helped me clear the Homecoming mission 6 total times now without any crashes. Hopefully this may help someone. I was getting very upset and figured I would test some things. I've also seen a post in this thread where someone said it could just be a PS4 Pro firmware issue due to Diablo 3 crashing as well since the Necromancer update. I play Diablo 3 and have experienced these crashes so this guy could be into something. Ps: I'm currently downloading the Rise of Tomb raider Demo to see if I fall victim to the notorious crashes that that game seems to have on PS4 Pro as well. I will post back shortly. UPDATE: Crashed on Tomb Raider demo before making it to the top of the mountain. Display settings set to 2160RGB. Checkered glitch display box on screen. In one of my Destiny 2 crashes and one of my Diablo 3 crashes I also experienced this glitchy checkered box. I'm going to set my display to Automatic and test it again. UPDATE 2: 3 Crashes on Rise of the Tomb Raider now. Swapping off of 4K to see if I can finish the demo. After much research it looks like most of the people here who are experiencing the PS4 Pro crashes ON Destiny 2, Diablo 3, or Rise of the Tomb Raider have indeed gotten faulty hardware in their Pro system. Sony is apparently aware of these issues and from what I've read online will issue you a box to send your system back in to them in order to have it replaced. UPDATE 4: Rise of the Tomb Raider has now crashed 5 times at the same spot. 2 of these times were with the settings set to 1080p only. At this point I have backed up my saves and I'm Initializing my console back to factory settings. I will then do a batch of testing again before I call Sony, but at this point it's looking like faulty hardware. The checkered box that we've been seeing after most of these crashes is a blatant indicator of a failing GPU chip. UPDATE 5: Reinitialized my PS4 pro. Two attempts in a row have succeeded in clearing the mission with no crashes. It is worth noting that I did NOT leave my PS4 Pro in rest mode over night. When I started playing Destiny 2 today it was after booting from a fully powered off period. I will now test Rise of the Tomb Raider several times again and I will post back to keep everyone updated. I also play Diablo 3 daily, since the start of the new season, and was also experiencing rare crashing of the same manner. So far so good on Diablo. Will post updates later. NEWEST UPDATE: Console is now freezing more often than it ever has on any of the aforementioned titles. I've called Sony and started the replacement process. They said it sounds like a failing GPU or HDD and told me they've seen several cases with Day 1 PS4 Pro systems having faulty hardware. For now I've got the old trusty PS4 out and it's working flawlessly. NEWEST UPDATE: In case anyone is still following this thread. I just received my PS4 Pro back from Sony. All is good! The very first time I played Tomb Raider I was able to 100% clear it. That was never even possible with my old unit that would freeze on Diablo 3, Destiny 2's beta, and Rise of Tomb Raider demo. Now I'm having 0 issues. This was definitely a console issue and not an issue with Destiny 2. Guys, get your consoles fixed ASAP. The warranty process takes two weeks to a month!

There's been a new update released on ps4 downloading now and going to risk console death to see if anything changes will update you guys UPDATE: I got past zavala which is my first time ever however it froze again right after that

Same here Ps4 Pro and get black screen followed by CE-34878-0. Tried it with boost and no boost mode. I have a Ps4 pro without any changes, as it came in it's box. Also I already played games like horizon on 4k and online games like overwatch, destiny and the division without any problems. Console language is english. Also I was able to play yesterday with only one crash when I got to the plaza on the mission and there was a player already there. Then played that mision plus control pvp without any crash. Today I can't play more than 2 minutes without getting a crash.

Same problem. Stock ps4 pro. i've tried to dummy down the graphics to 1080 and turned off the rest. didn't help. i even turned the sony 4k tv to game mode. didn't help. thinking to try an external hdd or possibly to keep the ps4 pro cooler somehow.

Here's what is killing me about this. This thread is buried in the forum, I originally found this post based of a Google search. No "games journalism" sites are reporting on this issue. Any thread on forums like Reddit/Neogaf isn't highly enough rated to become visible enough to anyone else having the problem. Bungie keeps making constant social media posts about early access this, open beta that, again no mention of this growing issue. The fact that this isn't more of a story anywhere is killing me, either this software is broke on certain machines or Sony put out faulty hardware and we are all going to be screwed because unlike the red ring issue XB had, this pool of users is not big enough for Sony to see as an issue that needs to be taken care of in house and instead we will all be stuck with broken hardware. As I've seen on other sites people have been having similar issues with other games such as Rise of the Tomb Raider and NBA 2K17.
