Reddit user agd_TinMan_bng claims that on 9/1 Bungie will release a small update that will include two story missions that will lead into Destiny 2. The user said that once the update is downloaded, the epilogue for D1 will play once you select your character, then when you beat both missions, a prologue cinematic will play that leads into D2.
