CLASSIC comedy Home Alone was yesterday voted best family Christmas film.

The Oscar-nominated movie, in which Macaulay Culkin fends off idiotic burglars, beat It’s A Wonderful Life to take the title.

Third in the poll of 3,000 adults was The Snowman, while fourth place went to the 1994 version of Miracle On 34th Street, with White Christmas, starring Bing Crosby, in fifth.

The poll was conducted by Buffalo Technology, makers of computer storage technology.

A spokesman said: “Classic movies get everyone in the mood for the festive season.”
