The 7-zip built-in benchmark shows a modest performance advantage running the faster DDR4-4000 memory. Although it provided a mere 1% gain over DDR4-3600 it was 6% faster than 3000 MT/s memory.

Going from 3.3 seconds to 3.0 seconds might not seem like much, and well it isn't. However, in larger workloads a 10% saving could amount to much more time saved. It's clear however high frequency memory isn't going to revolutionize Excel workloads.

The Adobe Photoshop CC results are shocking to say the least. Here we see that the DDR4-4000 memory allowed the overclocked Core i7-6700K processor to complete the workload 54% faster! When compared to the DDR4-3000 memory we still saw a massive 31% increase in performance.

Finally, we have HandBrake for what is another sock blowing moment. Here the DDR4-4000 memory provided a 57% performance boost over DDR4-2133 and 43% over DDR4-2400. Even the 441fps rendered on average when using the DDR4-3000 was made to look slow, as the 4000 MT/s memory reached 540fps making it 22% faster.
