Fox’s Brit Hume: Biden mistakes suggest ‘memory loss associated with senility’

Fox News’ Brit Hume expressed concern on Saturday that Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden’s string of recent gaffes may be a sign of “senility.”

While campaigning in New Hampshire over the weekend, Biden appeared to confuse the state with Vermont when asked how he was enjoying his time there. The mistake comes as the latest in a series from the former vice president in recent weeks, and Hume took note.

“Biden has always made gaffes by the bushel, but some his recent ones suggest the kind of memory loss associated with senility,” the Fox News analyst tweeted. “E.G: This one, plus forgetting remembering he was not vp when meeting Parkland students, twice confusing Theresa May with Margaret Thatcher.”

Since launching his presidential campaign, Biden has made headlines for a number of verbal mishaps.

Just this month, he confused the locations of the recent mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, told supporters that “poor kids are just as bright and talented as white kids,” claimed he was still vice president during the 2018 Parkland, Florida, school shooting, and mixed up Burlington, Vermont, and Burlington, Iowa.

He also misplaced the assassinations of Robert F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. in the late 1970s when both men died in 1968, referred to Margaret Thatcher, who died in 2013, as the current British prime minister twice, and incorrectly insisted that 40 people were shot at Kent State in 1970.

Despite his leading the Democratic pack in the polls, Biden’s persistent errors have some voters concerned. The 76-year-old, however, brushed off those worries on Saturday when asked what he’d tell voters who are uneasy about his age.

“I say if they’re concerned, don’t vote for me,” he said.
